Tune:  A mighty Fortress is our God…

Into the sea of endless grace

I´m plunging with thanksgiving,

For here I find abundant space,

And here I´m freely living,

Because of Jesus Christ

Whose blood was sacrificed,

By which I blameless stand

On rocky ground, not sand,

With gospel gladness ringing!

I in my fallen nature see

Despair and desolation,

It cannot be improved by me

Nor by good education,

For here´s no breath of life,

But only inward strife,

Till I myself in Him

See where I now can swim

As a redeemed new creature!

This is my topic day by day,

His death and resurrection,

The ground on which I want to stay

As my true motivation,

For joy and  liberty

I in this standing see

What He spells out to me,

The gospel is the key,

Lo, He´s my boast and glory!
