Tune:  Beneath the Cross of Jesus...

My heart rejoices highly
whenever I may dwell
upon the love of Jesus,
in whom my soul feels well,
though in myself I feel no heat,
the sin in me is there,
the Spirit then points to His grace  (2 Cor. 12:9)
full of consolation sweet!

My boast is Christ plus nothing
my platform is His cross,
and all the worldly glory
I´ve learnt to count as loss,
His Spirit, yes, exalts just Christ,
in whom I hide my shame,
for me His blood was sacrificed,
I´m in Christ beyond all blame!  (Eph. 1:4)

My charter is the gospel
of which I´m proud and bold,
the blessings of His finished work
are offered manifold
to all the sick and lost indeed,
who cannot find their way,
but Christ has met our deepest need,
He the price did fully pay!
