March on my soul with strength and might,
despite your weakness He will fight,
He greater is than all your foes,
for in the Lord your boldness grows!

For all our strength is Christ our Lord,
our weapon is His word, our sword,
in us there is but gloom and night,
in Christ the light is shining bright!

Sin deep within us causes pain
and will us to its bondage chain,
and yet we may in freedom thrive,
for we in Christ were made alive!

Though I my sinful nature hate,
in Christ my standing is though great,
in Him I am redeemed and clean,
no matter how my past has been!

And so I by His grace press on,
for me the battle He has won,
now I may blow the gospel sound
as one He as a sinner found!

Indeed, my happy story is
the merits of that grace are His
to be proclaimed to all around
in simple words, not too profound!
