“You are an epistle of Christ….”  (2 Cor. 3:3)

We are epistles, not with ink,
sent by the Lord, you know,
a higher calling than we think
where living waters flow!

God´s word embodied, yes, indeed,
before a watching world,
in our face it Christ should read
with gospel truth unfurled!

This is our Savior´s simple way
through happy, yielded lives,
He in His mercy day by day
revival life revives!

At lowest ebb may be our zeal,
however sad it seems,
with sinful lapses, though, He´ll deal
with healing gospel streams!

That kind of life is like the wheat
that rises from the earth,
the grain must through its death be freed
before its own rebirth!

Our arguments will never do,
nor learned sermon things,
we for that Spirit yearn anew
that life abundant brings!
