The glory of the Lord I see
in our Savior´s cross,
where He from sin my soul set free
despite my deep chaos!

When I in darkness fooled around,
His glory was concealed,
I deaf was to the gospel sound,
as sin to me appealed!

Just how He did it I don´t know,
except this is a fact,
to me He endless grace did show,
as Shepherd He did act!

“I once was lost, but now I´m found”,
this is my music too,
He set my feet on solid ground,
My soul to Christ He drew!

From then on was the Bible book
my charter and my joy,
for living bread I there did look
already as a boy!
