Several years ago a missionary friend of mine and I were watching a statue of our greatest build owner, the popular Danish king, Christian IV (1588-1648), who till this very day has left his mark on Copenhagen and other cities in Norway that belonged to Denmark in his days.  My friend said, “Do you know that you have accomplished more than he ever did?”

He was right.  Any follower of Jesus who testy of Him with solemn reference to His kingdom (2 Tim. 4:1) has accomplished more than any king and his earthly kingdom.  Facing the soon coming eternity I´d rather stand before God and say like Jesus, “Behold, I and the children God has given me…” (Hebr. 2:13) –i.e.  my spiritual children.

I´m now an old man (86), and my time glass will soon come to an end, but I will not.  Soon my transit journey on this earth will be over, and what really matters will begin when I wake up one morning at “a cloudless morning”  (2 Sam. 23:4).  So let us rejoice in that glorious perspective, for Jesus is the glorious One, and His glory is on His followers everywhere (2 Cor. 2:14) in the face of our unhappy surroundings.
