Christ For Me And In Me Udskriv

When I as a young lad responded to the glad tidings of Christ, I realized that I´d received a great Savior who in His love is more than 100% for me, not against me.  It also dawned on me  that He is not only for me, but He is also in me.  Those two truths stay simultaneously with me despite the fact I´m not an angel, for like  James, I must say with him,  that “we all  stumble in many ways”  (James 3:2).

Indeed, I gladly embraced the fact that Christ died for my sins, and from now on this word and other good words summed up my new position in Christ  that says,  “Is God for us, who is against us?”  (Rom. 8:31).    But because  Christ who died for my sins, God  silences all hostile accusations, and He says, “I´m for that man!”

But there´s more to it.  He´s not only for me, but He also lives in me through His Spirit, for He is a wonderful part of the gospel “package”.  The apostle witnesses of that joy again and again.  “Christ in you, the hope of glory!”  (Col. 1:27).  This is wonderfully true because He not only died for my sins, but, He now also lives in me.

This is, nonsense to the unbelieving world.  I remember a psychologist who was not a Christian ridiculing the Christians who talked a strange, gibberish lingo insisting on the fact that another mystical person is living within them being, the living Christ.  But that´s really what takes place, however, once He´s embraced into a sinner´s heart.  It happened when the powerful Holy Spirit who is part of the Godhead  (The Trinity) indwells a Christ-trusting believer.

Does it make sense to you?  If not, you probably do not know Christ  through the work of the Holy Spirit and the word of the gospel.  The Spirit is called “the pledge” (or earnest) of what is waiting us beyond death and grave.  “He who prepared us for this very purpose is God who gave us the Spirit as a pledge.”  (2 Cor. 5:5).

The Greek New Testament word is “arrabon” and in modern Greek it is “arrobona” which really means an engagement ring or a down payment prior to the eternal glory  waiting for the soul who has trusted Christ.  You´ll not understand that till you have made a personal experience with Christ.  Alas, many religious church goers have not.  You may be one of them.  So it´s my privilege to proclaim to you too the glad, saving news of Christ which is for lost sinners only.
