An Opportune Challenge Udskriv

One of our German friends sent me this expressive picture.  It seems to suggest that if you choose to do without Trump you are on God´s side.

Is it that simple? I´m not mr. Trump´s spokesman or anybody else´s. By His grace  I´m on the Lord´s side making no flesh my strength (Jer. 17:5), - and that “flesh” could be Trump, Joe Biden or anybody else.

As Elijah put it, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him…”  (1 Kg. 18:21).  This is still the overruling principle, even if I vote on the election day be it be in Denmark or the U.S.  It´s often the choice between several evils.

To some of us the whole situation may be so critical on both sides of the pond that it´s nearly impossible to make an intelligent choice.

The apostle Paul said, “Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1), meaning, I believe, that as the gospel had first priority on his agenda, it should be similar with us.  He would never write a poster saying, “Neru or God” as a start-up to a political campaign.  Instead he challenged the Christians to pray for the rulers and preach gospel (1 Tim. 2:1-7).

Having just today paid a touching visit to a young Iraqi family with a very sick 13 years old girl trying to minister with the word of life, incl. prayer for healing, I again made up my mind, viz. this is where I want to be before the Lord takes me home. Let the politicians keep their roles – I´ve picked mine with Christ.  And I glory in it!  -
