The Joy of Communicating Udskriv

From the U.S. my wife and I regularly get sweet photographs of our grandchildren, 7, 9 and 11.  It all fills our hearts with joy and gratitude knowing of another stable family planted over there despite evils that attack American homes, their legislators and foundation, nay the allegiance to the American flag and what it stands for.

We old people have little of interest to send over to our American family, and yet we don´t feel too embarrassed.  Sweet little Tamil kids are jumping on our laps, Iranian boys assure us that they haven´t forgotten God´s phone number, - Psalm 50:15 - and they are eager to use it when our fellowship calls for praying together.

I just love to be among English speaking people, in America not the least and school children above all, and yet this is not my situation right now.  It takes,  I feel, all the grace of God plus a lot of patience to fellowship with what we call "new" Danes that are learning our language, and I try to communicate with them in as simple terms as I know how.

But sometimes I enjoy the luxury of speaking freely my own language, and the hospital personnel with whom I still have certain appointments would sometimes show a keen interest in listening to me in Danish and that is really a treat to me.  One physiotherapist said to me, "We solely deal with the physical training program, but with you I feel tempted to start a conversation club!"  We grinned about it.

Humbling it is, but when you share Christ with foreigners you can´t help feeling the warmth of His Name when your stammering tongue try to point to Him. Don´t you?  You do it with words, but also with your presence.  That I like to submit to my friends abroad the platform of which is the old eloquent gospel that has no "sell-by date"!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice...
