(Read 2 Kings 5:1-14)

In Israel a man appeared,
he as commander came,
but for his leprous life he feared,
no help was all his fame!

But Israel´s king could nothing do,
so he was sent instead
to God´s anointed servant who
to Naaman calmly said:

“Go, proud commander, do it now!”
With Naaman he was frank,
“Beneath the Jordan humbly bow,
just hasten to its bank!”

But Naaman he was very proud,
he Jordan just despised,
Elisha´s words he disavowed
and other rivers prized.

A servant then said to his face,
“The prophet´s word was great!”
Indeed, his words were full of grace,
so why did Naaman wait?

Commander, do what you´ve been told,
your plans and schemes forget,
don´t at the prophet´s message scold,
be in the Jordan wet!

So Naaman to the Jordan went,
he seven times went deep,
and thus he humbly did repent,
nay, doubtless he did weep!

What is salvation all about?
With God its work began,
your own ideas and thoughts rule out,
obey His sovereign plan!

His saving plan is Jesus Christ,
your guilt you can´t improve,
but Calv´ry´s  blood once sacrificed
can all your sins remove!
