Tune:  God moves in a mysterious way…

“For God I as His servant stand,
the Tishbite boldly said,
“a drought will come upon the land
with years of famine dread!”

But then the prophet prayed again
till rainy showers came,
but on the idol Baal profane,
God sent His curse and blame!

Elijah he was scared and fled,
his life was now at stake,
the queen the prophet wanted dead
and words of fury spake!

But soon the Lord his servant found
beneath the bushy leaves,
abased on dry and dusty ground
just little he perceives!

But God remembered him in love
and saw how he was stressed,
and soon He lifted him above
from what made him depressed!

To Heaven he was lifted soon,
he used no plane nor bus,
to weakness he was not immune,
for he was one of us!

How does it all to us apply
at times to me and you?
We in the dust may also lie,
for flesh and blood we´re too!
