Feelings come, and feelings go,

unchanged is my standing though,

circumstances fluctuate,

faith in Christ has much more weight,

helpless I to Jesus cling,

and my praise to Him I sing!

What I am in Christ now counts,

I in Him have all my founts,

wretched in myself I am,

perfect am I in God´s Lamb,

nay, His death at Calvary

is my simple creed and plea!

I cannot my flesh improve,

nor I can its sin remove,

so I to His cross will look,

in its work my soul partook,

for His death my death was too,

foolish to the world, yet true!

In our feelings we can´t rest,

we in Christ alone are blessed,

though His dying we do share,

we are joyfully aware

of His resurrection pow´r

by His Spirit hour by hour!

Therefore be in Him content,
