”What hope do you have for the world?”  (Churchill´s question to Billy Graham in 1954).

They “had understanding of the times, to know what Israel had to do.”  (1 Chron. 12:32)

An old evangelist in Norway (now with the Lord) never got tired of reminding us of the importance of knowing and interpreting “the signs of the times” (Matt. 16:3), and he pointed to 3 signs that threw into relief the gospel and its promise of the Lord´s  coming:  1) Israel,  2) the EU (preparing for Antichrist), and 3) The World Council of Churches (i.e. the apostate church).

Despite the general pessimism he expressed the same bright hope as did Billy Graham to Churchill in Downing Street in 1954 when Billy took out his little New Testament and said,  “Mr. Prime Minister, “I´m filled with hope…I know what´s going to happen in the future!” pointing to the coming of Christ.

Indeed, let us these days when Israel is again on the world´s TV screens contaminated with malicious lies against the Jewish people have a quiet “time-out” with an open Bible and with open minds,  openly confessing that we are a people “filled with hope” before a disillusioned world of no hope.

For the gospel has never, in the present situation, been so relevant as right now!  Amen?
