My friend, take courage and be bold,
Your childlike faith in Christ unfold,
When Satan may you tempt and scare,
God´s armor you take up and wear!

Each weekday is a battle field
With Bible truth lift up your shield,
The charm of flesh and blood won´t do,
It´s full of failure through and through!

A wretched man I am for sure  *)
In me there´s nothing whole and pure,
Apart from Christ I´m lost, indeed,
In Him I have, though, all I need!

A glimpse of Christ, o, what a grace,
That gives new radiance to my face  **),
And justified in Him alone,
I boldly stand before God´s Throne!

Though we feel parched and full of thirst,
Our desert will with waters burst,
As Christ reveals Himself anew,
Wait, thirsty soul, He´ll fill you, too!
