How the Birds May Speak to Us

Though they are are freezing through and through,
Their breadcrumbs still are warm,
And thus their strength they will renew,
The frost will do no harm!

They´re coming from a sunny roof
Right to our feeding board,
Its open shed is waterproof
And there their food is stored!

They eat and get new energy,
Though modest is their meal,
They´re happy, cheerful, bold and free,
Ev´n though much cold they feel!

The birds this lesson will us teach:
“O, eat and get new pow´r,
New warmth you´ll also get”, they preach,
“Each day from hour to hour!”

The Bible is of course your food,
Your joy and power, too,
Your heart will find its teaching good
And fit for even you!

The birds are freezing, yet no more,
They´re  blessed with rays of sun!
New blessings God will on you pour,
Maybe they have begun?
