The Christmas gospel in Matthew begins with these words:

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews.  For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”  Matt. 2:1-2.

The question was correctly answered by the dignified theologians in Jerusalem.  Oh yes, they knew, but didn´t humbly act on what they knew.

So where is He today?

Some, even theologians, boldly claim that Jesus died, but didn´t rose again, and one day we may even find His mortal remains somewhere!

But they are wrong.  The two women who came to His tomb Easter morning were greeted by these triumphant words:  “He is not here, for He is risen, as He said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay!”  (Matt. 28:6)

”He is not here”, but where is He then?

The Bible gives this answer:  ”When He had purged our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high!”  Hebr.1:3

Yes, He is on the Throne!  We don´t worship a dead crucifix or some empty, religious symbols, but a living, risen Savior!  No one is as alive as He!

This poor world has its ”saviors”.  On Dec. 10 I watched on Norwegian TV how the Nobel prize winner Barack Obama was cheered like another messiah in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.  But he knows too well, that he can´t take away our sins which is, however, the true need of modern man.

Some godless people label the gospel God entrusted me as just ”old wives´ tales”.  One Danish politician compared the Christmas story with pixy stories.  Honorable atheists! Are you really so cocksure that Christ is untruth and that you are the truth standing definitely on the rock of truth?

For a very short time in my life I believed what you did until the risen Jesus Christ found me in His own wonderful way.  The well documented testimony of the gospel I´ve found trustworthy and solid and firm for my life, and it will be, too, when I part with this earth.

So we have every reason to enjoy a true Merry Christmas with our risen Savior in our hearts every day of the year. He dwells “in the high and holy place and with him who has a contrite and humble spirit to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones”.  Isa. 57:15.

In other words, he feels equally at home in Heaven as He does in a humble and contrite heart.  That´s where He is, indeed!
