The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has decided that the cross is to be physically removed from the Italian class rooms.  This court is not identical with the EU Court but is permeated with the same anti-Christian spirit, and with its latest verdict a godless pressure is now put on its many European members.  The catholic Italy is protesting.  The phlegmatic Denmark is rather adjusting herself to the European order of things.

It´s a solemn reminder, however, what kind of Europe we shall soon see emerge, i.e. an anti-Christian Europe just waiting for its coming charismatic and satanic super leader foretold in our Bible.

The United States of Europe can´t be compared with The United States of America.  The Founding Fathers of America more than 200 years ago were often godly men who certainly encouraged the Bible and the gospel of Christ in the class rooms without favourising any particular Christian denomination as State Church. In Europe an opposite course is taken.  The class rooms are not supposed to hear the word of God.  In Sweden I can be put in jail if as a school teacher I read from the Bible what it has to say about homosexuality. 

(Alas, I know that the European apostasy is sadly coming your way, too, dear fellow believers in America.)

This is a fresh challenge to us who adhere to the cross of Christ and its saving gospel.  The danger for all of us is to become apathetic or worldly or just be “nice and sociable” while our well worded “statement of faith” becomes empty words without power.  So the anti-Christian trend that “comes in like a flood” (Isa. 59:19) should be an awakening call to you and me on a personal basis.

The apostle writes with divine authority:  “For Christ did not send me to baptize (in other words, just to make an outward religious act) but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect!”  1 Cor. 1:17.  May the Lord make us such simple witnesses at eye level amidst our daily surroundings and not only on some sophisticated platform.
