Permit me, for a change, to put this in English trusting that my English speaking friends over here try to understand what I´m getting at.

These dark December days are of course saturated with Christmas fun, but with little Christmas, i.e. with no Christ.  However, this is our happy opportunity to witness of Him if He has really conquered our hostile hearts and made them like “overflowing cups” (Ps. 23:5) because of our initial encounter with the gospel of grace – nay, His irresistible grace.

I´m now an old man, but inside still young, drawing on the fountains that made their way to my wretched life when Christ the source of living water took over.  I was recently taken to the hospital where I was told that this  could possibly be the end, but the Lord was pleased to let it be but a conditional discharge, thanks to a successful, new kind of antibiotic.

Oh, let my cup still overflow for a little while despite my handicap (now a rollator driver (our car we gave to a grandchild) and confined to tough circumstances, but I do see people (district nurses and their assistants) and on Sundays I meet new people at the church refreshments after the service which are usually modest compared to the American churches.

I´m encouraged by the precious Christian fellowship (“fellowship of the Spirit”. Phil. 2:1), I mean with those who know what it is to be lost. 

I´m not at ease with religious people with no personal experience with the Savior of their lost souls.  They are, as a new Christian with a very sinful past said to his “saved” Christian friends at a Danish school, “You are what I would call egg yolk Christians…” meaning that they really didn´t know what it meant to be lost. (Luke 19:10) by being strangely protected as “safe” yolks in an egg shell (a pious façade) inside the church walls.

“The personal testimony is the strongest proof of Christianity” (John Wesley´s father). Let´s stick to that kind of devoutness. Dec. 14. 2023 - jn
