Oh blessed peace in Christ alone
My heart and soul possess!
With Him as King upon the Throne
By faith I dare confess:
His will and plan are my delight,
His cross my boast shall be,
His word illuminates my night
And calms the stormy sea!

But when my wretchedness so great
Leads me to self-despair,
His Spirit whispers to my heart
And makes my soul aware:
On calv´ry´s finished work rely,
Sufficient is His grace,
My eyes He thus does clarify
And makes me sing His praise!

No law, no holy rules can do
What Christ already did,
That truth He precious makes anew,,
Yes, even to a kid,
Who fullness in that Saviour finds
As life´s supreme event,
And so the world no longer binds
The soul in Christ content!
