The Bible says, ”The form of this world is passing away”  (1 Cor. 7:31), and its final doom is dramatically accelerating.  The walls of our modern civilization are tumbling down, - religiously, morally, politically, culturally, especially in the hemisphere of the western world.

The coming of the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit is really the one message of awakening.  So it was preached in old times, and they had revival.  Now they talk with emotional enthusiasm about revival and the revival of the ecstatic gifts, but they have nothing really.

But still the Lord is long-suffering and He seems to let this big Babylon with its immorality, successful merchants, wealth and its piles of sin and sexual perversions (Rev. 18) have its way for a while.  God has in His forbearance given the world a long rope, but one day He will say, “Enough is enough”, and his vials of apocalyptic wrath will be poured forth.

Now at the soon close of my lifetime on this earth I often wonder why godless people are dead set on clinging to this poor world at a time where the Savior of their lost souls is still there among us, through the preaching of the gospel, to let sinners escape “from this perverse generation” (Acts 2:40).

Alas, the rebellion against God is so deep rooted in this Babylon of materialism that that the cry “Come out of her” (Rev. 18:4) will not be heeded except by those who are really God´s people. And to us He has said, “Do business until I come”  (Luke 19:13).  In other words, do gospel business, soul winning business, - if not from the big platforms, at least on  a one-on-one basis thus doing “the work of an evangelist” (2 Tim. 4:5) – nay, as a dialogue evangelist.  The Lord is pleased to us such a precious recess for the good news of salvation.
