No Californian summer sun
does our cold relieve,
of slender palm trees we see none,
yet we in spring believe!

Our winter sun is sometimes rare,
but still it offers hope
of resurrected springtime fair
within our dreamy scope!

Look at the meadow and the field,
its grass still lush and green
makes me to my Creator yield,
who cures my winter spleen!

Revive the spring, oh Lord, in me
amidst a world so cold,
to frozen souls in agony
may forth we Jesus hold!
