“The light shines in darkness, and the darkness has not overcome”  (John 1:5)

Billy Graham did watch TV to keep abreast of the times, but he also warned against TV as a powerful tool of Satan in many Christian homes.  He once remarked that its unrestrained shows  can be compared with let loose from a mental hospital with all the doctors locked up.  And so many good Christians, are amusing themselves to death filling their minds with TV´s emptiness.

“Be on guard about your thoughts”, a friend once warned me, “for it´s in the realm of thoughts Satan operates” and he reminded me of 2 Cor. 11:3:  “But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds (or thoughts) should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

As we apply ourselves to the word and meditate on it, the Holy Spirit inspires us with God´s thoughts that transcend the emptiness of worldly thinking. (Rom. 1:21, Eph. 1:17-18).

Of course we shouldn´t despise good education.  I once read that a medical doctor has been through abt. 60,000 pages of study and I´ve known several of those people that use their high education to the glory of God.  But many highly educated scientists are atheists in darkness.

I´ve sometimes witnessed to doctors, and nurses about the joy of Christ.  They would sometimes listen feeling that I have received a gift from God which they´re are missing.  My heart surgeon bust into a friendly laughter when I told him not to be sorry if he failed with my poor heart.  For It means that I´ve got a new address.  He smiled, “It must be wonderful to be that clarified.”

My point is, co-believer, that the light which God has “switched on” in our hearts through Christ is to be boldly channeled through  our lives.  Indeed, we are channels only, for “who is sufficient for these things?”  (2 Cor. 2:16).  However, inadequate in ourselves (oh, very much so) our sufficiency is from God (2 Cor. 3:5).  He is “the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2. Cor. 4:6).  Yes, in His, not in our face.  We´re like the moon that shines with the light from the “face” of the sun.

Don´t let “the serpent” creep in and tell you lies about this enlightened standing in Christ.
