Tune:  Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts...

Jesus, enthroned and glorified,
oh, what a joy with Thee to side,
frail men do often disappoint,
with truth Thy Spirit does me anoint!

On grace and merits wrought by Thee,
I face a bright eternity,
there I have only this to show
garments blood washed and made white as snow!

So may this gospel be released,
and by my people thus be seized,
cut to the heart may we anew
hear cries like "Brothers, what shall we do?"  (Acts 2:37)

For this old gospel is no  game
played by the church to our shame,
Grant us Thy power from on high
so that our lips you may sanctify!

Now with a seeker do sit down,
he may be black or white or brown,
you may be poorly understood,
still gospel news does lost sinners good!
