A pretty young girl ran away from her dirty boss, crying. He suggested sex with her as her payment for some days of vacation she had requested. Fortunately she refused.
I couldn´t help her as it all happened out there in the far east. I encouraged her to take it to Christ, our faithful Savior who has saved and restored many other young girls in a much worse condition. The outcome of this particular story I don´t know about yet. In the loving company of Jesus there happened to be "certain women" (Luke 8:2) with a sad and evil past, but now, fully restored, they gladly served Him. Praise God! This still happens today!
A young girl prayed, "Lord, please find me, for I can´t even find myself!" A prayer like that the Lord is more than pleased to listen to.
We read about one of the Lord´s new disciples, a crying woman, who openly loved the Lord so much because much sin in her immoral life had been forgiven. She´d now become a new person full of new love. A similar case if the Samarian woman in Sychar presented to us in John 4. A wonderful, moving story.
A friend of mine said, "If I be assigned to produce a movie about her, the closing scene would be the "left waterpot" (John 4:28), standing there alone while she went on to tell others what the Lord Jesus had done to her life." I found my friend´s idea very good.
"Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?" (John 4:29), she said. Her thankful heart was full of love, a new, divine love, that loved much, since much had been forgiven. I always like to be around such Christians, don´t you?
Despite the fact that I was only 14 years old when Christ became my Savior, I still remember with shame the many evil things sin did to my life before I met Him. The more I think about it the more I love the gospel news saying that "where sin abounded, grace abounded much more" (Rom. 5:20).
I love to be in the same room as Christians who love because they had got much forgiven. In fact this is the company I prefer most.
