Again we had a sandwich together, Robert and I.  It was like the first time that young high school teacher and I had a meal together in his house.  I remember I was hungry so the American sandwich he´d bought was so delicious.  At his table we discussed spiritual matters that resulted in his quietly accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.  It was of the Lord who was pleased to let me be His imperfect pipeline.  Oh, we had great moments of fellowship.

Now we had a reunion meal in the garden of our daughter´s and son-in-law´s house.  This time more pleasant than last summer´s burning heat.  What a joy to have him with me and experience the warmth of spiritual fellowship in the true sense of the word.  “Fellowship is two fellows in one ship”,  someone has said.  I rejoiced that he is going on with the Lord.  “I have no greater joy than this to hear of my children walking in the truth”  (3 John v. 4).  I can easily identify myself with those words of the old apostle.

It´s wonderful thus to be ”American” again.  I´m interested in what church fellowship he enjoys, so Thursday night I´ll go with him to his church to see to it that he is being taken good care of!  “I feel responsible for you”, I said to him smilingly.  He also told me that he now understand of lot of truths which he didn´t to begin with.  That´s a good sign.  We shared with one another what grace as unmerited favor is about, and we both felt that this grace in Christ Jesus motivates us to tell others about our unique Savior.

We prayed together (so wonderful to hear him speak to the Lord) and we look forward to our next meeting.
