Wretched I am apart from Christ,
this poor, old world has not sufficed,
in us there is no good at all,
sin in our nature does make us fall!

But right amidst that sinful mess
Christ is the One whose name we bless,
when by the Spirit He´s revealed,
we see ourselves by His wounds now healed!

Christ who took all my guilt and sin,
He dwells indeed in me within,
nothing I owe my sinful flesh,
He does with blessings my soul refresh!

His love with warmth has filled my heart,
to His redeemed it does impart
oneness in faith,  despite our faults
His holy Spirit still Christ exalts!

May from this place His blessings flow
that to the world we forth may show
Christ as each sinner´s saving way,
for soon at hand is our Lord´s own day!
