Rejoice, my soul, in God´s dear Son,
for He´s by far the only One
in whom there is abundant life
amidst a world of death and strife!

Within me dwells inherent sin
I in that battle never win
in any power of my own,
the answer is in Christ alone!

This lesson is though hard to learn,
but till as lost to Him we turn,
a desert walk will be our lot,
where joyless days are what we´ve got!

But once it is to us revealed
that all our wounds in Him are healed,
His cross is our boast for sure,
its finished work is our cure!

Read the epistles day by day,
do often in "the Romans" stay,
on all its teachings meditate
with all their healthy gospel weight!
