Trump Tower? "Power" preachers?  Some stagey speakers?  The charismatics?  Those with "tongues"?  Their brand is usually a misnomer.

I once overheard a  leader say to one of my Norwegian friends, a genuine soul winner, "Are you afraid of us? Our spirit is strong, you know!" He  later spoke to me too, but was lying.  He has no power, and when I try to speak to him today as an old man, I meet a quenched, frustrated old man.

But power we need, and we should go for it, but where?  The simple answer is:  With the Lord Himself and His gospel, for haven´t we been taught that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every who believes?  (Rom. 1:16).  Notice, the gospel is power, not about power!

If you and I have tasted its saving power "unto salvation", i.e. to a new, healthy life in Christ and in Him only, it´s our privilege to pass on that  power-gospel to others by pointing to  the crucified and risen Savior.

But we badly feel the lack of power, don´t we?  My Norwegian friend in question whom the Lord used mightily in soul winning, was once "down" and complained at one of his meetings, that he lacked power.

Now, a godly old woman cared for him and said to him, "It says that "He spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"  (Rom. 8:32).  And she went on, "Do all things include power?"  He understood and had his attention directed to the secret of power, the Lord Himself.

As I went to a non-Christian party yesterday, I claimed His word of being filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18).  I confessed His Name, but nobody was really listening.  "But I did!" He whispered.  Indeed, and I was reminded of His own word in Matth. 10:32 which once a dear a servant of God explained to me this way:  "Every time you confess His name, your name will be confessed  also before His father in heaven!"  I never forgot that.
  
But what about the power?  It was there  whether anything happened or not.  Our very Spirit filled presence, will witness and reflect His presence.
