”He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples…”  Mark. 4:34

Privately!  Why?  It was the only way in which He could explain the word the way it should be explained.  Privately, alone, in the stillness of eternity despite the rush of the day.

Worldly people usually hate quietness.  The disciples of Christ can´t do without.   Oh, that privacy with Jesus!  A ”private audience” with the Lord is always possible.  However, He has a hard time to get a private audience with us.  It´s so needed if the Bible is going to have any impact on our lives.

A Christian friend challenged me about something I´d written.  He said to me, “If you´d only been quiet before the Lord, you would have seen it!”  He was right.  I´d been too much in a hurry, and so I didn´t ”see” what  I ought to have seen. 

In the King James translation it says, ”When they were alone, He expounded all things to His disciples…”  The Greek grammar suggests it was a continuous thing.  May this be true of you and me too – practicing a continuous privacy with the Lord.
