Tune:  Have Thine Own Way, Lord...

Trust Jesus Christ as much as you can,
don´t trust the charm of any "good" man,
learn to be bold in Jesus alone,
your faith´s position is on His Throne!

Here´s your foundation once you wake up,
in God´s own word is your drinking cup,
nay, every morning with its fresh dew
will all His riches bless you anew!

Trust on this day your standing in grace,
that does reveal the gospel´s true face,
should many failures cleave onto you,
don´t you forget His blood is there too!

My face I often hide in my hands,
yet my poor soul on Calvary stands,
can you with me at that cross bow down,
we can together Jesus, too, crown!

Christ crucified our message is still,
who else can our emptiness fill?
Platforms of noise are not what we need,
preach Him instead in power indeed!

Utterances boastful one day will cease
bringing no hope nor unending peace,
may true conviction sinners bring low,
as loud the gospel´s trumpet we blow!
