The devil he is smart indeed,
he Bible truths does twist,
he souls into this lie would lead
that he does not exist!

But he is very busy though,
most subtle are his ways,
he doesn´t mind a churchy show
as long as games it plays!

His crafty tricks we must discern,
at this he aims we know,
that souls may not to Jesus turn
and Him as Savior own!

His battle field is our mind
which he assails with thoughts
that make us to the gospel blind
while he its words distorts!

Preach, brother, Christ as crucified,
against a roaring foe,
and as we with His gospel side
his pow´r we overthrow!
