Let this be the echo in our lives, “It happened…”, Acts 22:6 – and “it will happen” (or “it shall come to pass”), Acts 2:21.

“And it was so”, it says in Gen. 1 or “It so happened” (Danish). This “happened” also in a believer´s life as “a new creation”  (2 Cor. 5:17),  and the recurrent work of personal revival will still happen as  we are indwelt by a reviving Spirit.

I like what it says in French in Gen. 1:11,  “Et cela se réalisa…” i.e. “… it became real…”  God realized Himself in His creation of old – and also in His new creation.  And He keeps doing it in your and my life, doesn´t He?

What gives power to our testimony?  That God is real.  But clouds may be there and we cry, “How long will you hide your face from me?”  (Ps. 13:1).
But He is still real despite His “hidden face”.  Why David went through that, I think I know, for when that happens in my life, it´s for this reason:  He wants to make Himself more real to my troubled soul.

Is your soul in the dark?  O, cry to the Shepherd of your soul, and He will not let you down.    The “light” may not be there right now, but praise God, He has promised that you will not “abide in darkness.”  (John 12:46).

I was walking once to a morning service in Norway, down hearted and empty.  I  kept quoting Ps. 13:5 loud on my walk.  “My heart shall rejoice in your salvation…”  I didn´t rejoice, and yet I took that word as a promise. How good the Lord was!  He “dealt bountifully with me” when facing Norwegian believers, hungry for the word of God.  They rejoiced, and so did I whom was given grace to trust His mercy (v. 5).

You can´t trust Him, “mute” soul?  Well,  He will give you grace to do it, and it “shall come to pass” that you´ll rejoice “bountifully” again in Christ!
