Tune:  Have Thine own way, Lord….

Content I am, Lord, finally now
down in the dust in worship I bow,
things went against me, crushed all my pride,
yet to yourself I closer was tied!

Once I did covet praises from men,
foolish I was again and again,
the arm of flesh is the arm of curse, (Jer. 17:5)
where disappointments grew worse and worse!

Gently the Shepherd whispered to me,
“Do to my Throne of grace rather flee,
there in my presence hidden from men,
pour out your heart and use, too, your pen!”  (Ps. 45:1)

Don´t be weighed down by ungodly foes,
for by their anger your boldness grows,
your time is short, the world´s hour as well,
hasten then sinners of Christ to tell!

Whatever God gave into your hands,
use it for Christ, for He understands
how small you feel, but greater is He,
so is His grace and always will be!
