”I am” and always that will be
that Sovereign is He,
o, what a joy to you and me
is that divine decree!

What human beings think or are
so little has to say,
their words reach after all not far,
a “dead end” is their way!

“I am”, He says and not “I was”,
which means that every day
His presence I can trust because
that´s what His word does say!

A platform thus He gives to me,
but not the one you think,
nay, where He orders me to be
from that I will not shrink!

To be alone is not a shame,
in Christ you may be bold!
Press on and forward in His name,
be on the gospel sold!
