(For quite some time I´ve been “exploring”  the epistle to the Hebrews“)

… let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” (10:22)

The sprinkling is about His blood
applied to our hearts,
and wash us does the water flood
that God´s own word imparts!

For with His blood, His washing word
keeps all my thinking clean,
I up my loins with truths do gird,
on what He said I lean!

And thus in truth we may draw near,
we nearer cannot be,
my heart rejoices without fear,
in Christ I´m bold and free!

God´s Spirit will His witness bear
of Christ whom He exalts,
on Him and Him alone it´s where
we thrive despite our faults!

So let us at His table meet
His death to keep in mind,
His cross our fellowship makes sweet,
we here our freedom find!
