“Thou art my King, O God:  command deliverances for Jacob.”  (Psa. 44:4)

(Do read the whole of Psa. 44 and 45!)

Tune:  Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts…

You are my King and God alone,
You I by faith see on the Throne,
there  I´m enthroned with Christ, Your Son, (Eph. 2:6)
You blessed Holy Triune One!

Satan may scorn pour on the saint,
nay, in this battle we may faint,
down to the dust our souls feel bowed,
why has the Lord all this allowed?

Though strangely silent, does He sleep?
Doesn´t He see you when you weep?
Tearfully do to Him look up,
for overflow will soon your cup! (Psa. 23:5)

Your heart with Christ will overflow,
under your feet He´ll crush the foe  (Rom. 16:20),
as with the Spirit´s sword you gird,
that mighty tool which is His word!

So let us now exalt the King
as our theme when hymns we sing,
He does command delivery
for Israel and you and me!
