In Denmark the Easter is equal to several welcome holidays ordered by law.  In school I was taught of the Jewish meaning of the Passover.  The word means, we were taught, to “pass by” referring to the judgment of Egypt for which the children of Israel were spared, as they were protected by the blood of the Lamb.

The Lamb speaks of course of Jesus as the Lamb of God dying in our stead on the cross of Calvary.

I like what  Martin Luther is supposed to have said:  ”We should live as if Jesus died yesterday, rose today and is coming back tomorrow!”

But Easter is still a great holiday over here – in fact from tomorrow, Thursday, till including Monday.  At a party one Easter evening in my godly grandfather´s home I remember a dear friend of the house, a beloved preacher, asked the question:  “I wonder if we are all having Easter with the blood put on our doorposts?”  O, I knew what he meant though still a babe in Christ, and I rejoiced as he went on from there preaching Christ, the Lamb of God.

So a happy or blessed Easter to all of you, an Easter with the blood, with Calvary, with “the word of the cross” and with your testimony of that cross!
