”… always carrying about the dying of the Lord Jesus…” (2 Cor. 4:10)

There is a way that seems so hard
to wretched pride we know,
and yet it is God´s way to guard
us from all carnal show!

The dying of our plans so great,
it is the way of Christ,
for what I thought I could create
in death was sacrificed!

The grain deep in the ground must die,
that process will not stop,
for on it goes, but gives thereby
a new revival crop!

The world appeals to our pride
and “winners´ attitude” ,
the teachings of the cross applied
vain glory, though, excludes!

So when my works in ashes lie,
my grain in darkest earth
to my ambitions says goodbye
before an Easter´s birth!
