“…and pray on my behalf that utterance may be given me…”  Eph. 6:19

I go to this and that divine,
theology they teach,
as they that “science” may define,
can they me teach to preach?

Before a watching world I stand,
lost souls I want to reach,
so I a doctor give my hand,
“Please teach me how to preach!”

To volumes he does now refer,
but I do him beseech,
“O, tell me where to read, dear Sir,
for I do want to preach!”

But No, it doesn´t work that way,
forget the learned speech!
As God´s weak vessel made of clay,
He only makes you preach!

For laborers in agony
that yearn for more outreach,
need more than mere theology
Christ as God´s Lamb to preach!
