God bless America, they sing,
and so sing also I,
o, may the Savior be its King
with power from on high!

Praise God, I hear, though, on its walls
some godly witness still
that to remorse the nations calls
with hopes of God´s goodwill!

Nay, Christ as King and Sovereign great,
the Founding Fathers cried,
for only that adorns the state,
if not, it will backslide!

So may that battle cry be heard
ev´n at this gloomy hour,
and may afresh the gospel word
each conscience grip with power!

Do look around you, gentlemen,
among the common crowd
and preach the word of Life again
in simple terms – and loud!
