”When the evening came, He was alone there.”  Matth. 14:23

At nightfall Jesus went alone
up to the mountain side,
there in the Spirit He would groan,
there long He would abide.

Our Savior set for us the pace
to show a happy way
in which to find enough of grace
to humbly kneel and pray.

Now, what is our pious plea?
What do we choose to do?
Be doped at our night TV
with news that isn´t new?

The fervent prayer in solitude
avails for God so much,
for there the flesh will be subdued,
and there His throne you touch.

And so each saint fresh courage takes
despite our feeble state,
for soon the day of glory brakes
at the celestial gate!

Far is the night already spent,
the day is soon at hand,
to praying saints He will descend
at Heaven´s great command!   *)
