In darkness is this land of mine,
from God so far away,
will gospel glory no more shine?
What is the use to pray?

Great are its evils and its sin,
Christ is as King dethroned,
The Holy Bible is not “in”,
its laws have been disowned!

But is the answer to this need
just blowing in the air?
Do with the Lord in vain we plead?
Does He ignore our prayer?

To plead with God is not in vain!
For showers we may pray,
He wants to quench with gospel rain
the thirst of our day!

Lift up the Son of God anew
in the Almighty´s might,
the heavens then shall give their dew
at daybreak´s dawning light!

For when His greatness is revealed,
each Superpower is small,
on Christ God has His Spirit sealed
as the Supreme of all!
